National Zoo & Aquarium

Does your child love animals?

Does your child want to know more about being a zookeeper? Does he/she want to help care for the animals at the zoo?

Then the Junior Zookeeper Club Primary (School Years 3 to 6) and High School (Years 7-10) is the solution!

These programs are designed for children with a keen interest in animals and the operation of a zoo. It is a great stepping stone for children wanting to pursue an animal related profession.

Junior Zookeeper Club membership includes attendance at weekend programs that include feeding animals, behind the scenes tours and helping care for the animals through food preparation, cleaning, creating enrichment and learning about conservation and animal health.

Sessions occur almost every month on a weekend for 3 hours either in the morning— 9am to 12pm, or in the afternoon —1pm to 4pm.

The cost for new members is $435.00.

Bookings for 2017 sessions are full. New placements will be open for bookings in late November 2017, for the 2018 sessions.
