Imagine the planet was one hour old. Over this period plants and animals have evolved to inhabit all four corners of the globe, some of it still unknown to science. Now more than 30 million species share the planet, but only one is capable of wiping them all out forever. Humans have only been on earth for less than a second using the hour clock, and in that time we have managed to place many plants and animals in imminent danger of extinction not to mention the many species that have already disappeared.<\/p>\n

N.Z.A.C.T is a volunteer organisation that works hand in hand with the National Zoo & Aquarium and
\nPACT, (Positive Actions Conservation Team). These three organisations are working together to save some of
\nthe worlds most endangered species from extinction. NZACT works with the National Zoo & Aquarium to help develop
\nprogramss for species that are held in captivity and that are critically endangered in the wild. This is done through
\nbreeding programs and educating zoo visitors about the world and the part that these animals play.
\nSpecies at the zoo such as the Malayan Sun Bear and Sumatran Tiger have been a focus for the group.<\/p>\n
