Celebrate World Lion Day With Our New Cub Nyra!

We’re going wild for World Lion Day

Join us this weekend for the debut of our adorable new lion cub, Nyra, and learn more about these magnificent big cats.

Nyra

Born on April 26th, little Nyra is already stealing hearts at just 3½ months old! This birth marks a truly historic moment, the first lion cub born at the National Zoo & Aquarium since 2002! Proud parents Nairibi and Mlinzi are doing an amazing job, and we’re celebrating Nyra’s debut all weekend at the lion catwalk with keeper talks and a conservation market stall! The family will have daily access to the lion enclosure from 10am – 2pm beginning on Friday 8th August.
