COMPETITION TIME! 🦓🎉
HAVE YOU ‘HERD’!? 🦓🎉
It has been a week of double celebrations at the National Zoo and Aquarium with the arrival of our 29th zebra foal, a playful female born on 6 September, just one day before Father’s Day and on the same weekend that her father, Tambo, celebrated his 15th birthday.
While this little zebra is already making a big impression, one thing is still missing: a name. To celebrate her arrival, we are launching a special naming competition, inviting the public to help choose the perfect name for our newest addition.
⭐ To enter the competition :
🦓 ‘Like’ the post on either Facebook or Instagram.
🦓 Submit a name suggestion, via the link on our page, that is in the Swahili language and begins with one of the following letters : Z-E-B-R-A
🦓 Share the meaning of the name.
⭐ What the winner will receive :
🦓 You and a friend will enjoy an unforgettable day at the zoo, including:
🖤 A special meeting with our zebra herd.
🤍 An up-close rhino encounter.
🖤 General admission for the entire day.
🤍 Please note: As animal experiences are guided by their welfare, particularly with young ones, we cannot guarantee that the foal will take part in the encounter.
With her lively personality and close family ties, she is sure to become a favourite among guests, and we cannot wait to see what name the community will choose for her!
Competition entries will remain open until 12pm on Friday, 19 September 2025. The winner will be chosen by the National Zoo and Aquarium staff on or before Friday, 26 September 2025 and announced on 26 September 2025. Prize is not eligible for exchange, transfer or resale.
